Rehoboth Beach Voters Deserve A Voice

Citizens are coming together to fight against the violation of our civil rights by the Rehoboth Beach Board of Commissioners.

Urgent Update and Call to Action!

Thanks to everyone all over Rehoboth Beach and Sussex County who called and wrote our commissioners and legislators this month.  You were successful in forcing Rehoboth to follow legal procedure as hundreds of you responded - making them revote on the charter changes they tried to ram through with no notice and no debate.

Unfortunately, our legislators IGNORED YOUR VOICE and defiantly sent the unconstitutional charter changes back to Dover as they rammed through a block of civil rights violations and repealed the property tax caps and strengthened the power of the local bureaucrats to raise your taxes at will - all while mocking citizens as being ‘uninformed’.   Government at its best?  Hardly.  Watch the YouTube’s of the meetings as they smugly dismiss your concerns.

These changes are not only costly and unconstitutional, but they are pro-tax and anti-marriage.  Removing the tax cap puts all of Rehoboth Beach Citizens at risk of never ending tax hikes, and will drive hard working citizens out of our community.  Just like when they raised our taxes 30% on false information and have never fixed that error.  Your money is just too appealing to waste rather than to give back……ever!  See the lovely new $1.3 mil bollards scarring our boardwalk for a good use of your cash!

Rehoboth now will be a focus for more litigation as they rammed an anti-marriage requirement illegally through.  This provision discriminates illegally against married candidates and is a direct violation of the US and Delaware constitutions.  If you like litigation, you’ll love what Susan Stewart and our city solicitor just forced on our charter.  No other government in the nation was dumb enough to do what Rehoboth just did.

Now, the charter changes are back in Dover with our legislators. Representative Snyder-Hall and Senator Huxtable are the last chance before your rights are trampled and your taxes face chronic increases for pet peeves and more waste, and more litigation lay on our horizon.

Since our concerns were mocked and dismissed, we need your help again.

Let Senator Huxtable and Rep. Snyder-Hall know that these corrupt and unconstitutional charter changes violate the constitutions of the US and Delaware and make us ATM’s for bureaucrats who cannot stop stupid spending.

Visit HERE to email Representative Snyder-Hall and Senator Huxtable and tell them to do the right thing and vote down these outrageous abuses of power by Rehoboth’s commissioners.  If we don’t hold them accountable, who will?

Thank you for your support so far in protecting the fundamental freedoms of Rehoboth Beach citizens.

The Rehoboth Beach Civic Association is committed to protecting the rights of all Delawareans in all levels of government and we can only do so with your help raising all of our voices together.

Enough is enough, don’t you think?
